In the past I have found corner-cases with --msvc-syntax, but using that is probably a good start.

We just found out the problem that --msvc-syntax sometimes has, and which @ferjm also ran into. For library paths it prints /libpath:c:\foo\bar\lib.lib instead of /libpath:c:\foo\bar\lib. It naively appends .lib to everything everywhere

We also incorrectly handle the msvc-style arguments. I'll prepare a new PR that sidesteps all this.

servo/servo#21158 (comment) is the problem @ferjm ran into btw, worked around by manually adding the libpath.
