Are you on OS X? What version?
I'm on High Sierra (10.13.1) and cannot reproduce your problem:
$ ruby -v
ruby 2.4.1p111 (2017-03-22 revision 58053) [x86_64-darwin16]
$ gem install rbnacl-libsodium

Ok, I only did require "rbnacl". Works when I require "rbnacl/libsodium". What changed though?
