Ohhh... That's why I can't see those [MISSING] tags!
I totally agree that this is also not the behavior I expected...

I think my reasoning here was that you'll never provide a set of translations for English, since it's already there.
So for English all strings would be marked as [MISSING]. Are you using this to see which strings haven't been annotated with translate?

Exactly. Just as a way to make it obvious that strings haven't been annotated.

Have a look at #119 (just merged and released): this gives you more options to debug exactly that.
