Do you have any links to the broken charts?

I tried the code from the README and it works fine for me

library(rCharts)
spp <- c('Danaus plexippus','Accipiter striatus','Pinus contorta','Puma concolor','Ursus americanus','Gymnogyps californianus')
dat <- occ(query=spp, from='gbif', gbifopts=list(georeferenced=TRUE))
dat <- occ2df(dat)
maprcharts(dat, map_provider="Acetate.terrain", palette_color="OrangeRed")

Thanks fort the feedback. It looks like it's just the Stamen maps.

Try

library(rCharts)
spp <- c('Danaus plexippus','Accipiter striatus','Pinus contorta','Puma concolor','Ursus americanus','Gymnogyps californianus')
dat <- occ(query=spp, from='gbif', gbifopts=list(georeferenced=TRUE))
dat <- occ2df(dat)
maprcharts(dat, map_provider="Stamen.Watercolor", palette_color="OrangeRed")

Interesting that the first look you get the map isn't there, but if you zoom in the map appears again.

I could just set the default zoom to something else

ramnathv avatar ramnathv commented on June 3, 2024

I have seen this happen with Stamen.Watercolor. I believe they dont have tiles at that zoom level.

sckott avatar sckott commented on June 3, 2024

Thanks. So it does make sense to have a different default zoom level, or at least different default for Stamen layers

Yes. I suppose so.

Added note about some map layers that may not show up in commit 46b12f5
