Cabal build failure about base-unicode-symbols HOT 5 CLOSED

This seems to be a bug in Cabal or in cabal-install.

You could check your build log /home/perso/site/.cabal-sandbox/logs/base-unicode-symbols-0.2.2.4.log for other errors earlier in the log.

But the exception hGetContents: invalid argument points in the direction of a problem in Cabal. Perhaps it tries to read data from a closed handle (possibly due to lazy IO). Or it is something specific to Centos.

Do other packages build without problems on your system?

Yes, I also have Hslua with a build error. With cabal 1.18 every thing is working properly. I will look more deeply into this.

I solved this problem by putting export LANG=en_US.UTF-8 in my .zshrc.
