May I know what was the reason for using two different analytics services for the same app?

It was mainly to have a convenient user-interface to the tracking/logging-data. Because showing the tracked events in a meaningful way took quite some effort in ApplicationInsights. And in Matomo this kind of "user event timeline" is a standard feature.

And also to 'prove' that we can have multiple (third-party)services provide 'logging'/metrics for us. And not be solely dependent on an Azure-service.

I think the following ENV-variables need to be defined/passed-through in the GitHub-Action/workflow:
