In Alloy, putting the fonts into app/assets/fonts/ does work. But you can leave this issue open, because this is actually a mistake in the module. We should support the platform-specific path since this is the correct directory as described in the docs.

I think this may be wrong documented. Just saw that official test also use app/assets/fonts here: https://github.com/appcelerator/alloy/tree/master/test/apps/advanced/complex_styling/assets/fonts
This also makes more sense, because fonts are usually not platform-specific.

So, if you don't mind we could close this issue.

Hi, I just created an example project for this module.
I tried to put the font file in the app/assets/fonts/ folder for this alloy project, but the font did not change.

I tried both:
actionBar.titleFont = 'Aller.ttf'

and

actionBar.title{
  text: 'Hello World',
  font: 'Aller.ttf'
};

but both ways didn't work. Here's the github repo https://github.com/ardiwine/actionbarextra-example

Thanks for your help.

@ardiwine Thanks for pointing this out. I proposed a workaround and added a new issue #43
