Handling Edge Cases about django-friendship HOT 1 CLOSED

Getting caught up on django-friendship today and just saw this.

#1 is handled already, it raises a AlreadyExistsError() which you can handle however you want. To get it to do nothing it would simple be:

from friendship.exceptions import AlreadyExistsError

try:
    new_relationship = Friend.objects.add_friend(request.user, other_user)
except AlreadyExistsError:
    pass

#2 and #3 I'll consider for a future version, likely 2.0 since those would be backwards incompatible well at least surprising changes to the users of the library but having options for those in the future makes sense to me.

#4 This is easy to get around in your own code by checking Friend.objects.are_friends() before generating a FriendRequest, but I can see how that might be confusing. I'll try and updates the docs a bit as I release this new version today.
