python binding about kmc HOT 2 OPEN

I have never think about developing python binding for kmc. As I understand the idea is to prepare some function in KMC C++ code, that one will be able to call from python code instead of using the command line to run KMC, am I right?
I am not sure what exactly are the advantages (despite the fact that calling KMC would be then a little easier from python code). I mean now you may write a relatively simple function in python that will run KMC using subprocess.call for example, so what are the other advantages? I have never done python binding before, so the answer may be obvious, but is not for me and any information would be really appreciated.
For now creating python binding is not in our plans. On the other hand, we would really like to make our software as useful as possible, so our plans may be reconsidered.

Sure. One advantage is people can do some lower level operation on the data by using KMC functions in python code. Not an urgent demand but will be nice to have it. You can close this issue as it is a general suggestion.
