getting a lot of errors about binwalk HOT 3 CLOSED

Sounds like file permission issues. What system are you running binwalk on and how did you install it?

I run binwalk on an ubuntu VM.
The problem was fixed yesterday by chmod-ing the relevant files from 770 to 775.
Not sure how it happened in the first place though.

It seems that this problem still exists. It happens on Ubuntu Ubuntu 14.04.4 LTS, both when installed via pip install binwalk and when running sudo python setup.py install from the downloaded tarball from github.

This is what the plugins folder looks like after installation. Note that I am not in the staff group.
