Depending on how some of the FMK scripts are invoked, they need write access to the FMK directory; some require root privs, others don't, so the easiest way to make sure everything "just works" was to make the FMK directory world-writable.
In reality though, for binwalk-specific applications, this should no longer be necessary as most of the FMK scripts have long since been updated to accept alternate output directories. I'll update deps.sh accordingly.
