service running with sleeping device? about bgs-core HOT 8 CLOSED

When you say "sleep" - do you mean just turning off the screen?

If so, then yes it should work. If you have your device connected to your development environment you should see the logcat messages (assuming you are using the MyService sample).

my scenario

• I transfer the apk to your device - run android .... - -device
• Disconnect the device from the computer
• Switch off the screen to ensure that the service is running. But the service also sleeps. Tested on two devices

Although very simple I must be doing something wrong

I'm sorry I expressed myself poorly

Can not really say that the service does not work. Just is not working for my need.

I found that it does not work for my needs when I enable the timer and get response only when the device is turned on or connected to a power source screen. When I disconnect the device from a power supply and turn off the screen simply the service for of me to respond within the time set in enabletimer

As I already told I must be doing something wrong in a simple solution

Similar issues in the past have proven to be local issues with the developer having a problem with their code.

What I am trying to understand is how do you know that the service is also sleeping?

What is the background service setup to do (in the doWork()) or are you just using the MyService example provided with the sample?
