The behaviour you mentioned can also be reproduced under MacOS Ventura 13.5 with zsh 5.9
I have two workarounds:
- Save it locally with
curl -L https://github.com/rbenv/rbenv-installer/raw/main/bin/rbenv-doctor > rbenv-doctor
, make it executable withchmod +x rbenv-doctor
and run it like a normal script - Assuming you are calling the script through curl, instead of pipeing it through zsh you could pipe it through bash:
curl -fsSL https://github.com/rbenv/rbenv-installer/raw/main/bin/rbenv-doctor | bash
Both of the above worked in my case.

@apblack: Like @tibix pointed out, rbenv-doctor is a bash script and not compatible with zsh. This is evident in both the script's "shebang" line and by our documentation instructing users to execute the script through the bash
interpreter.
