Now NOOBS has button presses to manually choose display mode (The 1/2/3/4 keys), it might make sense
to automatically set the config.txt of the installed OS to match the settings you used when installing it.

@popcornmix the plan is to write both the installed OS and the display mode config settings to the installed OS's boot partition when it is installed. NOOBS will then check for their existence and use those settings as default. This ensures that we don't break the prime directive of NOOBS which is to never write to the recovery partition.

I believe @lurch was planning on providing the functionality to inform the user of the installed OS using this method.

v1.3 provides these requirements in a different way. Closing for that reason.

Yeah, the fact that NOOBS 1.3 only allows you to edit the config.txt for OSes that are actually installed (combined with the fact that OSes automatically 'inherit' NOOBS' display mode), makes this much less of an issue.
