Ben Woodfield's Projects

game_maker_engine_projects icon game_maker_engine_projects

As I focus on game development, I have found using game engines can be a very efficient and fast way to develop games.

hardware-projects icon hardware-projects

Some Hardware controlled projects using Python and C. These little projects will mostly be Raspberry Pi and GPIO related

ip_locator icon ip_locator

A simple program written in Python that enables the user to enter an Ipv4 IP address and track it's location to City, Country and also return Longitude&Latitude values. You will need the GeoIP module, and I have included the Database file for this program to access the required information about the IP (2017 database). NOTE The database is a free version and is pretty accurate, but may need updating each year at least to allow for any changes made. I tested this database with a few websites (of known location and address), then entered the Longitude and Latitude values into this website to obtain a map location: https://www.latlong.net/. I managed to track worldwide within (on average) 1 square mile. If you purchase a geolocation database service you may get even more accurate results, and may also get the required annual location updates included (it is only as accurate as the database)

java-print-statement icon java-print-statement

A very basic program written in java to display a message using a Print Statement. This program is to accompany a tutorial video showing how to write, compile, and run code using the Java language

kivy_clock_timer icon kivy_clock_timer

A simple clock and timer aimed at Android devices. Will run on desktop for testing if kivy dependancies are met. To try this app on an Android device, go to your App-Store and install "Kivy Launcher"

kivy_doodle_app icon kivy_doodle_app

A basic drawing app written in Python, aimed at Android devices. Will run on desktop for testing if kivy dependancies are met. To try this app on an Android device, go to your App-Store and install "Kivy Launcher"

low-level-game-development icon low-level-game-development

Basic games, mostly in bare Python, and also some in Pygame and Tkinter - I hope to do some PyOpenGL projects for this repo as I build towards an "end-goal" project

mario-lvl-1-in-python-and-pygame icon mario-lvl-1-in-python-and-pygame

This isn't my work and I haven't changed anything. When I started to learn Python I looked everywhere for a version of this retro game, that I could see at code level - to better my understanding. Theres a LOT of different versions, but this one worked well on my Raspberry Pi (Raspbian), Ubuntu Linux, and my Windows PC (has .exe file to run)

pen-testing icon pen-testing

Another set of tools I have found myself using. Basic Penetration Testing tools - these are mostly in the Brute force category, aimed at online accounts

pixel-art icon pixel-art

Ok - I know this is not a typical repository

pydhammapada icon pydhammapada

Displays random verses from a Buddhist book called the Dhammapada
