Yes, any editing of the email message (Draft, Forward, Reply) forces the html mode.
I'm not sure that the text mode is needed in RainLoop at all.

What is your opinion on this?

Well, I like the text mode, and it is also very used in some mailing lists I follow.
In my opinion, RainLoop should keep it when creating new emails, and enhance its use when editing a text-only message. But only if "Plain" mode is set as default editor. In all the other cases, html mode should be used.
After all, it's just my opinion, and as you are the dev, you can code your software as you like :-)

Good, I will do so.

Although, I want to use a different, more powerful HTML editor (ckeditor or something similar). But I have not decided yet which one I want.
