The syntax for string literals is literal <-- SQ (BS ['\\] / !['\\] .)* SQ SP ;
which is quite nice and simple. supporting \n inside string literals would require an unescape step inside peg-to-scheme which gets a bit gnarly. maybe it'll be ok to add once we have semantic actions though. For now not going to do this.
The way to put \n currently is 'foo' [\n] 'bar'
instead of 'foo\nbar'
