Can't run rake about rails HOT 8 CLOSED

I was getting this when using the latest beta of rake, but using rake v0.8.7 makes everything run smoothly. What version of rake are you using?

are you using rubygems 1.8 by any chance? if so try downgrading to 1.7.2

gem update --system 1.7.2

Actually this should be kept open, I hit on this one too. There is something weird going on with latest rubygems release, rails and rake. At this point, we can't say - from where it is coming.But IMHO, we will have to track this one down and fix.

Rubygems 1.8 release stated explicitly that it was going to break rake, so it surely comes from there. There is nothing we can do besides expecting a new rake release.
