I found a solution here neovim/nvim-lspconfig#662, where I overwrite your settings with this

vim.lsp.handlers["textDocument/publishDiagnostics"] = vim.lsp.with(
    vim.lsp.diagnostic.on_publish_diagnostics, {
        virtual_text = false
    }
)

However, I decided to remove this block
