From my experience in sdb. Having 1gb db is quite huge enough to spend many time syncing it to disk.

Also, for smaller databases having 64 bit addressing is just making them bigger, so i would prefer not to go for 64bit addressing.

In addition, its better to use multiple splitted instances of sdb using namespaces than using a single huge one like cdb64 promotes.
