Good idea, I'm planning on doing this soon, just trying to finish up the Node.js addon first. 30 seconds is probably overkill—once I start benchmarking different options for all the codecs I'll probably drop it down to 10 or maybe 5, but for now I can live with 30.

I have a patch for this sitting in my local git repository, but triggers a problem in SHARC or, more likely, the Squash SHARC plugin. Rather than debug it I'd like to wait until the new SHARC API appears, since I'm going to have to rewrite the plugin anyway (should be much easier this time around).
