but I can download it with the browser, I don't think is a country problem

Then maybe the container has no access to internet at all, but I have no idea what could be the causing that.

ok, I don't have a proxy or a firewall rule from inside to outside in my home server, I also tried with a dns config in docker compose but without success.

Instead with docker run all it's fine... , the download starts and the image with alpine linux starts, I will investigate the root cause!!

It should make no difference if you use compose or run, the result should be the same, so Im not sure what is going on.
