execnet only provides a syncing service - pytest-xdist does the actual data syncing based on its design

Thanks, Ronny. I have asked this question thinking we can have 'rootdir' for each worker which is different from test path. It seems we can only set current working directory using 'chdir' in worker spec.
My requirement is, plugins from conftest.py located in root directory which is different than test directory are loaded for each worker. But it seems we don't have a way to specify root directory for each worker or propagate the main root dir for workers. Please suggest if there is any alternate or workaround for this issue.
