More searchable name about dataset HOT 6 CLOSED

The project is very young, it was publicly released only a couple days ago. So I guess it takes some more time for Google to update their index etc.

Two months on, and dataset (the Python library) is 3rd in a Google search for "dataset python".

3rd is respectable, but I still agree with the @bbergmann that "dataset" is an awkwardly generic name for a library.

I'm a strong -1 on renaming it, I have to say. I like the generic name, I'm using it in a few dozen scripts already and I don't actually think that google searches is how people find out which packages to trust.

Hm, it's nr. 1 and 3 on my Google, 4th just for the term "dataset". Can we leave it?

Super sorry about commenting on such an old thread, but I do want to say that as a user that loves this package, the generic name makes it near impossible to search for specific/auxiliary docs or troubleshooting (SO questions and others) in google. Whenever I search something more specific than python dataset, I end up getting a page of pandas, sklearn, and other unrelated docs. (though when I search only python dataset it's the first 2 so that's good)

Basically, I've never been able to find any other resources beyond the official docs - like at all.

I don't mind the generic name in and of itself, but I do wish there was another name to search that would filter out irrelevant results. Seeing as it's a mature package, I understand that there may not be much to be done, but it is a usability issue.
