-pres or did you mean -pnpres
You should be able to grant access on channel_name-pnpres
from objective-c.

I meant -pnpres. I am just being picky regarding the PAM portion of the interface.

OK, just wanted to make sure you had the right channel name, but you are doing things correctly. If you have Presence enabled, you have to grant access to the channel and its -pnpres counterpart separately. Not sure what you mean by the PNChannel cache being affected but there shouldn't be any side effects.
