Yes, i cant find a reason why.

I can solve it by checking the new value against the current one (i think) and only allow a new value if greater then the old value.
I hoped not to intervene to much in de data received, but it seems there is no other option.

I will try to release a fix for it this week.

Smart move. Lets hope I get some more sun.. because its grey as hell at the moment here xD

ProudElm avatar ProudElm commented on May 18, 2024 1

ai.. i will check.. I hope its an easy fix..

from solaredgeoptimizers.

ProudElm avatar ProudElm commented on May 18, 2024

This is weird. I just checked my sensor and it has the same drop-off.. Not sure what could be causing this yet. I will take a look.

Thanks for investigating!

B1rdEater avatar B1rdEater commented on May 18, 2024

Today's score. I will keep track; see if there is a clue.

It happend indeed again. But i suspect that the 'problem' is with the data retrieved. Because that is all i do, i get the data from the portal and insert into HA.

I will keep track of it and perhaps i need to build in some logic to make sure the new value is the same and/or bigger then the old one.

from solaredgeoptimizers.

B1rdEater avatar B1rdEater commented on May 18, 2024

Yeah, there is a really high chance that the problem is at SolarEdge its side. If so, can we submit a bug there?
Would be great if somehow you would be able to build a logic that prevents this drop with faulty data

from solaredgeoptimizers.

ProudElm avatar ProudElm commented on May 18, 2024

Uhm wel.. i kind of 'hacked' the data from the portal site. So if a bug report is a good idea..? :)
Kind of looks like a recalculation off the value of the optimizers when a new day happens.. It alway just a few wh..

I'm looking into if a round the value if this issue can be solved.

from solaredgeoptimizers.

B1rdEater avatar B1rdEater commented on May 18, 2024

Whaha; well, than our best option won't be to tell SE about your intrusion. And indeed, it it just a few wh, but it messes up the utility meters big time, they will start at 0 and make a BIG jump when SolarEdge corrects its Life-time value

Small update (was away for a few days). Affected panels seem to very a lot..

B1rdEater avatar B1rdEater commented on May 18, 2024

Sounds like a plan. Thanks for this fix; I will test it when you release the update

from solaredgeoptimizers.

ProudElm avatar ProudElm commented on May 18, 2024

With the latest release (v1.1.2) this wont happen again.

B1rdEater avatar B1rdEater commented on May 18, 2024

Awesome, thanks a lot! I will update today :)

Seems to fail :(

from solaredgeoptimizers.

ProudElm avatar ProudElm commented on May 18, 2024

ai, that's weird... it should not update the sensor when the value is lower then its previous state.

Let me know if it happens again tomorrow, in the mean time, i will debug some more.

from solaredgeoptimizers.

B1rdEater avatar B1rdEater commented on May 18, 2024

Yeah, its strange. I will check again tomorrow!

from solaredgeoptimizers.

B1rdEater avatar B1rdEater commented on May 18, 2024

So far so good! How strange it didn't work yesterday. I will keep checking for a few days :)

from solaredgeoptimizers.

ProudElm avatar ProudElm commented on May 18, 2024

I found the problem... It was a stupid.. Next release it will be fixed (again)

It happens :). Thanks!

I am afraid that update somehow broke some other sensors, no new update for te last 2 hours:

Only lifetime-sensor keeps sending updates:

B1rdEater avatar B1rdEater commented on May 18, 2024

Seems alright now; all sensors and no dip in lifetime :D

ProudElm avatar ProudElm commented on May 18, 2024

Nice! I will keep this issue open for a few more day's, just to be sure its really fixed ;-)

ProudElm avatar ProudElm commented on May 18, 2024

@B1rdEater How is the data performing? Is it still stable?

from solaredgeoptimizers.

B1rdEater avatar B1rdEater commented on May 18, 2024

Daily lifetime is functioning as expected and stable.

Not sure what happened yesterday with other sensors; but they were offline for some time. At the moment they are working as they should. See history. Red: internet outages. Blue: can't explain why data was not available.

image

from solaredgeoptimizers.

ProudElm avatar ProudElm commented on May 18, 2024

nice to hear.

It's just a bit tricky some times. I want to refactor the way the data is retrieved, but i need to find out how ;-)

from solaredgeoptimizers.

B1rdEater avatar B1rdEater commented on May 18, 2024

I understand! I think this issue can be marked as solved now :)

As expected; just started today.... have a look at all daily yield graphs from the past 3 days. Today.. is kind of broken

image

from solaredgeoptimizers.

ProudElm avatar ProudElm commented on May 18, 2024

mmm... strange... does your system restart at 0.00? Causing those sharp declines perhaps?

Back to the drawing board i gues it is..

from solaredgeoptimizers.

B1rdEater avatar B1rdEater commented on May 18, 2024

The sharp declines are correct! This is a daily yield (resets at 00:00). But if you look at the last day... lines are jumping everywhere

from solaredgeoptimizers.

B1rdEater avatar B1rdEater commented on May 18, 2024

There is a lot of errors going on, that I haven't seen before. Is the code maybe broken somehow?

not sure.. i'm seeing a lot of errors too.. I will try to make time this week to look into it!

Shit :(

from solaredgeoptimizers.

ProudElm avatar ProudElm commented on May 18, 2024

uhm. please help me, what's wrong? I think way more then your expecting? What sensor are you displaying there?

from solaredgeoptimizers.

B1rdEater avatar B1rdEater commented on May 18, 2024

Its the lifetime sensor of some panels that is again dipping (issue we had before, see image below).

image

from solaredgeoptimizers.

B1rdEater avatar B1rdEater commented on May 18, 2024

The latest update caused this issue to re-appear. Connection also seems instable?

The problem seems different now; it is not a drop-off, it is a random jump upwards?
