Asynchronous mechanisms in general suffer this problem. Whether an implementation decides it needs to override the OS's specifications by using a trick like the usual postMessage
one, or if it wants to respect them by sticking with setTimeout
, is a choice dependent on the implementation and what sort of behavior it wants to provide. Nothing is blocked here, as the implementation note is non-normative: we do not require setTimeout
as the particular mechanism of async delivery.
