Could be. Which browser/OS are you using?

from osrm-backend.

emiltin avatar emiltin commented on August 27, 2024

os x. occurs with both chrome, safari and firefox. it's seems the problem is not on the browser side, since once routes die in one browser, they're simultaneously dead in the other browsers.

I was not able to reproduce this error. Neither in release nor debug mode. Not sure if it's caused by the engine at all.

odd. it happens absolutely every time for me. drag one of the markers outside the data area, and i cannot get any more routes at the map without restarting osrm-routed. recompiled osrm with your changes from today, and reprocessed the osm data. a standard test file would make things like this easier to debug.

Could you give me your files? It may be an issue with the way Mac handles open files.

the data roughly covers this area: http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=55.6568&lon=12.5776&zoom=14&layers=M

the original osm.pbf was extracted from a larger .osm.bpf with osmosis.

emiltin avatar emiltin commented on August 27, 2024

nice. thanks for fixing this.

from osrm-backend.

emiltin avatar emiltin commented on August 27, 2024

still happening. :-(

no via points, just start or end marker outside data area. even after bringing markers back to covered area i can get no more routes, just "[info Plugins/ViaRoutePlugin.h:143] Error occurred, single path not found". need to restart server to get routing back up.

i don't get any messages about 'stalled file stream' etc.

DennisOSRM avatar DennisOSRM commented on August 27, 2024

Perhaps this needs extra care

I have trouble reproducing this one. Seems to work on my end.

DennisOSRM avatar DennisOSRM commented on August 27, 2024

Is this issue still happening?

from osrm-backend.

emiltin avatar emiltin commented on August 27, 2024

i can still quite easily make osrm hang by draggging start/end pin around outside the covered area. however i don't see any error message anymore. but that might be because i'm not running debug version?

from osrm-backend.

DennisOSRM avatar DennisOSRM commented on August 27, 2024

I suspect that this issue may be browser specific. Which browsers and which versions are you using?

from osrm-backend.

emiltin avatar emiltin commented on August 27, 2024

seems to be gone, and should be covered by tests now.
