The CC2D is not really made for handling visuals. It's purpose is to provide the backbone of a 2D character. For something like orientation, you can already do it with the CC2D the way it is right now. The CharacterCollisionState2D provides contact bools and a slopeAngle float. The onControllerCollidedEvent also provides a RaycastHit2D so you have all the information required and some extra. Just rotate the GO that has your sprite/quad on it according to the grounded state and the slopeAngle.

Thats a good point, I didnt look into what was stored inside that class. Ill look into implementing it that way instead.
