We’ve only released to Maven central once way back in 2013. Back then this was a requirement.

Think all my old release keys and credentials for Sonstype has been lost in time.

I read recently somewhere that Nowadays the prefered way releasing to Maven central has changed. We should switch to what ever parent pom we want, if any.

A note. I’ve switched to Gradle for build, deploy, etc. Perhaps we should consider that for Prevayler, at least for automated deployment to Maven central.

Thanks for the context!

I suppose that I should learn Gradle one of these days. Everyone seems to be switching over. Is it an easy conversion?

On second thought, would you be okay with waiting until Prevayler 3.0 for switching to Gradle? I'm thinking that we will probably want to restructure the project a bit then anyway, including reviewing whether we want to keep maintaining all the spikes and extras (maybe some will replaced with more stable core functionality). We should be able to drop support for Java versions earlier than 11 at the same time, which would allow getting rid of the little Maven profile trick that I just added in commit d9ce923.

Don’t think too much about gradle. It can live parallell to Maven. I can do the convertion if we want to go down that path. But I could start by scripting for automated deployment to Maven central.
