Implementation proposal

We would have 2 parser modes. The mode flag would be captured in a MarkdownDocument field.

simple mode

Simple mode is simple, because it would not try to do any smart logic about

  • escaping characters
  • parse hyper-links
  • distinguish soft-breaks and hard-breaks

It's aimed to be used in a merge scenario. It will allow us preserve formatting for Update-Markdown as is.

regular mode

This is our regular parser, that tries to do all-the-things for you.

Notes

We need a way to force-parse related links section

It's a work-in-progress in a vors/hyperlink branch.
