The reason Cordova throws the error is because the www folder (which is symlinked) doesn't exist. You need to build the ember app at least once for the dist folder to appear and the symlink to be valid, thus resulting in a successful Cordova build. To use ember serve (not server), you must be inside the ember directory.

@leonidez the second error should be handled by an npm install && bower install

The first one I'll have to look into. I have an internal task to symlink the directories that I used to have exposed as a command and for this, I may have to add it back in

I got it partly running. Here's what I did.

in the /ember directory:
npm install
bower install
ember build

in the project root:
rm www // remove the empty symlink
mkdir www
ln -s ember/dist www
ember-cdv build

This gives me a project that I can open in Xcode and a working 'ember server' command but there is still no merges folder.
The Xcode project opens in the simulator with the message 'ERROR: Start page at 'www/index.html' was not found.'
All of this only occurs on the computer where I cloned the repo. The originating computer runs my project fine.
