Use version 1.1 from the KiCad project, not version 1.0. (In version 1.1, components are soldered on the underside to lower the structure). As a precaution, I will upload new gerbers tomorrow. The project itself is up to date.

Ok, let's do it easier.

• Download the whole project as a zip file (go to the green "Code" button on the github webpage).
• Unzip this file anywhere.
• Open Kicad (I'm using version 7)
• Open the file "ZXROM-4in1.kicad_pro" inside the "zx-spectrum-issue6a-replica-main\ZX-ROM-4-in-1" folder.
• If you open the "ZX-ROM-4-in-1.kicad_pcb" (left side) with the PCB editor and then open it on the 3D viever (Menú/View/3D Viewer), you will see that this is the actual 1.1 version.
• Now go to File\Fabrication Outputs and select Plot (say "refill" to the question). Then select "generate drill files".
• Put those files in the same directory and create a zip file with them.
• Now you have the 1.1 version.

The gerber v1.1 files are already there. I'm glad you managed it :)

If you want to use the adapter, you don't need to modify anything on the ZX Spectrum board.
That is what it was created for :)
