It makes sense to have a private tag I just am not sure how to handle this in a way so that private pins are public or public pins are private on accident. I'm considering making a built in Private pin with some special CSS formatting.

Perhaps have a flag on the pin model currently that is something like isPrivate and then in the API that generates all the pins has a check if it isPrivate and checks against the user requesting the pins is the creator of the pin?

A "public" tag in a private install could be useful too. (maybe used by default for non-logged users)
