I will look into this. I cannot say how fast I can answer because it seems to be a larger issue :/

Hi Oliver,
its a bit hard for me to say that based on the provided information. Is this the mapping or the summation left and right? And which variables are you referring to with the difference? What you have to handle very carefully in transport is whether you want to include bunkers or not. So there are maritime bunkers in freight and aviation bunkers in passenger.
The first guess is always that it is included on the one side and on the other not..

@johannah-pik: I edited the text above and hope it is more clear now where I got which information from.

Thanks for the clarification Oliver! The bunkers are excluded and the mapping seems to be correct. What could lead to the differences is that Emi|CO2|Energy|Demand|+|Transport is calculated in the REMIND reporting and the other variables come from EDGE-T. But the magnitude of the differences is alarming. Do you have a log file to see when EDGE-T was running?

I think it should be this run: /p/projects/remind/modeltests/output/SSP2EU-AMT-Base_2022-11-02_12.42.21

Hi @orichters , in the summation you quoted, no international transport is included: you can find the corresponding value in
# Additional variables found in mif file
- Emi|CO2|Energy|Demand|Transport|International Bunkers
maybe including it in the summation group is already enough?
from piaminterfaces.
Well, before I can add it into the summation group, I would need to add it to the AR6 mapping template, as the summation groups are based not on REMIND variables, but on AR6 variables. The NAVIGATE template seems to subtract the bunkers from the Emi transport variables (note the factor = -1
) and reports it as an own category. But if I remember correctly, the treatment of bunkers was also one of the shortcomings of the AR6 template. Maybe @christophbertram can weigh in.
