Where is the rails log file? about passenger HOT 6 CLOSED

I am testing this on Mac OSX the logging seems to be working as expected.

Did you check the Apache error_log ?

On Centos this would be at /etc/httpd/logs/error_log

In my case it contains the following error:
[18855:ApplicationPoolClientServer.h:426] Client 0x94d1828: received message: ['get',
'/usr/rails', 'true', 'nobody']
Rails Error: Unable to access log file. Please ensure that
/usr/rails/log/production.log exists and is chmod 0666. The log level has been raised
to WARN and the output directed to STDERR until the problem is fixed.

I triple checked access permissions, but can't seem to find anything wrong with them
(tried with rails 1.2.3 and 2.0.2)

It might be an extra clue though as to why production.log isn't written to.

Hummm...

The cause of my production.log not being written to turned out to be an SELinux issue.
Time to read up on SELinux.
