all of the new features (including the Bonjour support) are part of the
upcoming
v2.0 release. it is not quite ready to be released yet since i am still working
with
the Growl team to finalize the last bits of the new cross-platform protocol. i
have
held of releasing the new version until the protocol is finalized to ensure
that i
have a compliant application that interoperates smoothly.
all that said, the GNTP spec was targeted to be finished already, so hopefully
the
remaining issues will be finalized very soon and then i can release the new
code
base.

the v2.x code includes both advertising itself over Bonjour and detecting other
instances via Bonjour. note that the current Growl for Mac clients still only
support
the Cocoa Distributed Objects over Bonjour, so this does not yet make the
Windows and
Mac versions interoperable. a new Mac version that supports GNTP and Bonjour
will
solve this and is in the works (i believe they are targeting the 1.2 release,
but no
timeline yet).
