ERROR: index row size 6160 exceeds btree version 4 maximum 2704 for index about pgvector HOT 3 CLOSED

Hi @garrettg123, from the error message, it seems like embedding_cosine_hnsw_index is a btree index, not an hnsw index.

Thanks for the prompt response, @ankane. I'm not quite sure what to do with that, though. I'm using the latest pgvector and copied the code from https://github.com/pgvector/pgvector?tab=readme-ov-file#hnsw. Is there something wrong with my PG config? How can I use the hnsw index?

You'll want to drop the btree index and create it as an hnsw index instead.

DROP INDEX embedding_cosine_hnsw_index;
CREATE INDEX embedding_cosine_hnsw_index ON "Embedding" USING hnsw (embedding vector_cosine_ops);
