Interesting. Adding a Pester self test is doable, but can't really do much else if Pester is not installed properly.

Get-Module should be sufficient to see if Pester is installed or not.

@muthu24 Not sure if I'm understanding this correctly, but would the following produce the result you need?

(Get-Module Pester) -ne $null

There's nothing we can do to fix this from within the Pester module, since that too would be unavailable. The only thing I would add to @artribou's comment is the -ListAvailable switch to Get-Module. Without it, Get-Module only shows you modules that have already been imported to the current PowerShell session.
