the before and after filters were deprecated in dancer1 in favor of the hook before => sub {...}; syntax

However, you should add a warning like 'before and after are deprecated, use hook before instead'. It will be more informative.

No, the are already "soft" deprecated in Dancer 1 (see last version) because we dont want to keep code like that for Dancer 1 deprecations in Dancer 2.

I'll write a "Porting Dancer 1 plugins to Dancer 2" guide that will mention that. It will be much clean that way I think.
