Dig the idea. Seen any conventions for the filename? Not finding a file for it for the referenced project.

Really don't know any conventions. Almost all I've seen are on a project's doc site.

Just personal opinion, but I think a Code of Conduct should exist in a document in root-level of the project, much like a LICENSE, or a README (or as part of the README). As long as it has high-visibility and is surfaced relatively soon upon browsing a project page.

To echo @josephholsten , I've only ever seen Code of Conducts on project sites or event sites.

Looks like http://contributor-covenant.org/ is dedicated to making this a common thing. Their convention is CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md.
