Actually I have been testing against memory leaks & connections left open behind last 2 days.
I think we have problems about that. I will open a new issue about that.

Thanks for the report, I'll have a look into it. From a first look, it's strange, it seems to mean that the gathering state is uninitialized somehow.

Yes please because it's different, there seem to be no memory leak here.

I don't see where mGatheringState is initialized, I suggest to initialize it like this:
