I did previously play around with this, but actually that is not really sufficient. Since they are creating the bulk of actors etc from within init() (which is only run once per session). So once you destroy it, and try re-enable it, its all messed up without a restart of gnome-shell.

There's a lot of work to make this extension works with enabling/disabling.
All connect should be unconnected all timers stopped and removed, etc
Maybe I will do this a snowy day…
