If Panda was only used as a Python engine, then I would be all for dropping the other SDK installers. However, it is also a C++ engine, so we need workflows that work for C++ projects as well.

apt repo

"There should be one-- and preferably only one --obvious way to do it."

I think the official instructions for not-builds are "use pip"? Sunsetting other methods of installing seems like a good idea to me.

Automated process for release notes?

This is just me brainstorming, but can't commit messages be used for this?

I appreciate the call for discussion and I think the list so far is probably a good start. I'm not sure how complex getting a GitHub Actions pipeline triggered would be for the entire variety of items mentioned IE Wheels, but I imagine it is possible given a reasonable time frame.

With regard to bringing third-party scripts into the main repo, I agree and would like to see this happen. I'm not sure what the impact of this addition might be with regard to hosting size wise.

For the release notes that could be a community member that writes them after the release is completed.
