I'm going to go ahead and say this is completed now. Flask-Principal has been updated to 0.3 and is available on pypi now. I've also updated the dependency here.

This has been in my head for a little while now, as well. I've attempted to contact the original developer of Flask-Principal to start a conversation about it.

Sounds good. Let me know what you find out.

Hi! Do whatever you like with Principal.

It's all yours, be my guest, as long as you attribute it correctly
under the license.

You could even embed it inside your project, I don't mind. Move it to Github if you like too. However you like. I love that code, I just never use it these days.

Please tell me what to put on the Bitbucket repo to let people know to go to a new place for more recent changes.

Great! Thanks alot.

Once I get it over to GitHub I'll let you know what to put on the bitbucket repo.

Also, are you able to add me as an owner to the package over at pypi? My username over there is mattupstate

I've copied the project over to https://github.com/mattupstate/flask-principal and did the following:

  1. GAE support
  2. New extension structure
  3. Added ignore_static option
  4. Updated docs to use theme submodule

@aafshar I would add in your README on bitbucket a link to the new repository.

And once you make me an owner on pypi I'll upload the new version.

@mattupstate Nice work! My work schedule has been pretty hectic the past few weeks, and I'm focusing on getting my Flask-Init project template in a publishable state, but hopefully things calm down soon so I can help out with the Flask-Security suite :).

Added to Pypi, sorry for the delay.

Thanks for taking this on!
