Yes, the ideal result of a Video ad is that on click, AdWhirl invokes the
youtube player passing through the video
path. Is there a way for this to happen?

I've just re-tested it; still opens the youtube website so not fixed. I'm using
hosted Adwhirl; anything I need to
refresh to see the change?

Hmm... we just tried it again as well and had no issues.

Are you testing on the simulator or on a device? This will only work on the
phone itself as the simulator doesn't
have the YouTube app.

OK - it's now showing and the behaviour has changed. Might have been a delay in
migrating or refreshing the
code.

It now invokes the YouTube player as expected when the Video ad is clicked.

One minor issue which I realise I may not have been too clear about. The player
invoked is the YouTube App
itself as opposed to a video window which layers on top of the app which has
the ad.

It would be best if the player was invoked as a layer (in the way a website ad
invokes a browser layer, but not
Safari itself). This means once the video has been watched, the layer can be
closed and the referring app is
still open.

Current functionality opens the YouTube app and closes the current app, so the
user has left the ad
environment and must close YouTube app, then re-open the app which had the ad
on.

I realise my terminology above wasn't as precise as it should be; but hopefully
this explains the issue more
clearly.

Zac,

Yes, we understand that you want to keep the user within the app instead of
yanking
them out of the app. We'll look into invoking the YouTube player in-app as a
feature
addition. It's not a documented feature, but we've seen hacks that it could be
done
somehow.

Meanwhile, if you can host a web page and the video file yourself, you can use
click
to web as the goal and link to the video there.

And, since the code is all for you to see and hack, if you come up with a
suitable
solution we'd love to hear from you. Look into AdWhirlAdapterCustom.m , adTapped
function as the starting point. The decision on what to do (openURL or create
in-app
AdWhirlWebBrowserController) is in there.
