Love it. Recently we've been looking to the modeling paper of
http://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/0004-637X/776/1/7/meta#apj483170f8
to start our constraints on ice features (see Table 5). Are there similar profiles from ISO and/or theoretical work for the aliphatic absorption? In principle 3.4µm can be in absorption as well. It's very challenging (without a radiative transfer model) to specify both absorption and emission in the same band!

For silicates, we already know we need to revisit the "shape" of, in particular, the 18µm silicate. So perhaps adding a crystalline "flavor" to that updated shape is a good approach. I'm really hoping to hold the number of parameters for the attenuation model to a low number (currently one for PAHFIT 1.x).

We need to add the aliphatic emission bands as well. And water ice at 3um. Perhaps the paper below can help you with the absorption profiles (and refs therein): https://www.annualreviews.org/doi/10.1146/annurev-astro-082214-122348
