fwiw, I tried this and get an error about gdal.

Yes, the first one is related to the sip 4.15 incompatibility. Will have to wait until I can backport those fixes.

The other one shouldn't happen if you already have gdal installed. Will check into it.

Note: 2.0.1 build now works for me

Not sure if I should report this here since its a different issue. Will take it up with @dakcarto in IRC today I guess. I got it to build with --HEAD and then it crashes on startup (at restoring loaded plugins) like this https://dpaste.de/yMBK ... I completely removed my ~/.qgis2 directory and the same thing happens.

Going to try again without the --HEAD option
