That would be a bug in pretty much the only untested file we have. Should be fixed now in 2.1.3, thanks!

does client.openMonkey also starts the monkey with adb shell monkey --port XXXX ???

also does it require to do a adb forward to port to make it work ??

Yes, it will start monkey for you and no, it doesn't require a forward.
