Yes, I second that request! Too easy for someone borrowing your iPad to get a lot of confidential data. Please expedite if possible. Everyone wants to play with the iPad :)

I'd be happy to review a patch implementing this.

I recently implemented this on my fork. Enjoy!!

I've submitted a commit with Passcode Protection. #132
It uses PTPasscodeViewController and NSUserDefaults, but it's a little more graceful than an UIAlertView

Sumukh,
Why don't you use Keychain to store the password? It's will be an all complete package
The change will be trivial compared to passcode implementation.
Thanks!

All one would need is iFile (JB) or iPhone Explorer, and they get all the access they want to the data, once the password is exposed.

Alright, I just haven't worked with keychain, might be a good experience learning it, but I encourage others to submit a fork :)

You know even a simple implementation that doesn't use the keychain is better than nothing. I'm more concerned about casual users who borrow my device to say play a game than hackers who may hypothetically get hold of my device.
In other words I care more about hiding my income from friends than strangers :-)
Be great if we can have atleast a simple implementation as part of the official version.
